Laia Charles Saigne
Ad-Hoc Officer (she/her)
Laia Charles Saigne is a U3 student completing a B.A. in Honours Political Science with minors in Environment and Management. As the Ad-Hoc Officer, she oversees and guides the two Ad-Hoc teams in new initiatives. Driven by a commitment to building fair and equitable societies, she believes MYAD provides an invaluable platform for amplifying youth voices and advancing their interests in international decision-making spaces.

Cate Laskey
Ad-Hoc Member (she/her)
Cate is a third year student pursuing a degree in History and Economics whose studies reflect a desire to better understand inequality, social change, and the forces that shape historical and economic development. Influenced by her academic background, Cate's interest in MYAD’s Agri-Food Ad-Hoc group stems from a desire to make a tangible impact while learning more about different issues and how they affect various communities, particularly in the face of a changing climate. She is particularly interested in equitable climate action and adaptation strategies driven by youth and community members.

Chenai Sabeta-Boadi
Ad-Hoc Member (she/her)
Chenai is pursuing a concentration in Finance with a minor in Political Science. She joined MYAD to start her career path to diplomacy and chose to focus on the Agri-Food System to share and integrate ideas to solve world hunger. Chenai would like to explore innovative ways to promote sustainable nutrition, borrowing from indigenous foods and practices around the world.

Sienna Corral
Ad-Hoc Member (she/her)
Sienna is a first-year Political Science student. Working closely with her local community as a food bank coordinator and youth soccer coach, she has seen first hand the challenges food insecurity poses. These experiences motivated her to join MYAD with the goal of contributing to the conversations surrounding the strengthening of Quebecois food systems and addressing systemic shortcomings. Sienna is interested in domestic policy, particularly reforming the foreign credential recognition system as well as foreign policy related to non-proliferation and arms control.

Lila Sonmez
Ad-Hoc Member (she/her)
Lila is a student at McGill University studying political science and international development, with a minor in economics. Having lived and studied across Turkish, American, and Canadian contexts, she brings a practical understanding of how young people engage with power, institutions, and public debate in different political settings. She is joining the McGill Youth Advisory Delegation to contribute to thoughtful, youth-led policy work, and her interests focus on youth freedom of expression and civic participation, especially how policy choices and digital rules shape whose voices are heard globally.

Rio Justice
Ad-Hoc Member (she/her)
Rio is passionate about applying academic knowledge to real-world issues, especially in conflict resolution and negotiation strategies that reflect the realities of those affected. Her policy interests are centred on a feminist perspective, with a focus on the gendered impacts of issues like water scarcity and healthcare disparities, ensuring women’s voices are uplifted. Committed to the power of collective action, she joined MYAD to advocate for inclusivity and to ensure women are represented and heard in policy discussions.

Josh was interested in joining MYAD to pursue his interests in policy editing, UN negotiations, and coalition building with international organizations. He believes in the importance of amplifying youth voices so he tries to be an advocate for youth. This year, he is eager to dedicate his full attention to shaping and contributing to the very first UN Tax Convention.

Ad-Hoc Member (she/her)
Sune Hamparian’s academic interests lie in political economy, inequality, and state power, shaped by a strong focus on how institutions affect people’s everyday lives in developing and fragile contexts. She is joining MYAD to work alongside other students in turning research, dialogue, and lived experience into meaningful policy engagement and advocacy. Her policy interests include international development, democratic governance, and expanding spaces for youth voices in public decision-making.

Aren Bedros is studying a double major in Political Science and Statistics with a minor in Economics. He is passionate about public policy and joined the McGill Youth Advisory Delegation to gain hands-on experience in policy research and consulting. His main interests include improving global healthcare, education, and housing infrastructure to promote equitable and sustainable development.
